Bar charts can be colored in many ways to make them communicate information more clearly. You can set the color of the entire series of bars, or you can color bars individually. You can also set bar charts to automatically change the color of individual bars if their value exceeds a given threshold.

Change colors for the entire series or individual bars
Coloring an entire series
The simplest way to adjust the colors of a bar chart is to set them all to one given color.
To do this, edit the bar chart widget and click the box under the Color section to choose a color from preset options. To set the color even more exactly, you can go to the Advanced section.

Setting individual colors
You can adjust the color of each individual bar by ticking the option Set Individual Colors in the bar chart widget editor. You can also then select to color the entire set of bars according to a preset color scheme by selecting the Change color scheme option above the bar category list. This can be useful in making sure colors are consistent across widgets.
Check the Set Individual Colors tickbox to adjust each bar separately
Setting highlight thresholds
You can set bars in charts to be highlighted in a chosen color when they exceed a given threshold or reach a given target. To do this, simply add a threshold line from the bottom of the bar chart widget editor, provide a value for the threshold and select a Highlight color for that threshold. Any value in that series which exceeds that value then gets highlighted entirely in that color.
