Site management

Site Data Management
There is an abundance of data in the mWater portal. Here we can find recent additions or changes of data in a specific organization, as well as how to manage the data if there are duplicate Sites.

Checking Recent Additions

Checking New Sites:
  1. In the mWater portal, select "Sites" to see any newly created Sites for your specific organization.
  2. Set the Filters for: Site Type; All Items; Managed By. These filters will search through all Sites in the organization that was selected.
  3. Scroll through the list for the most recent "Date Added" sites OR you can click on the words "Date Added" to re-sort the list by date and put the most recently added Sites at the top of the list.

Checking Activity Log:
  1. To check the "Activity Log" of a specific organization, select "Manage" in the mWater Portal Menu and select the specific organization.
  2. Select the main organization or a branch of the organization to look for activity.
  3. The admins for the branch can select "Activity Log" to view a list of time-stamped changes made to the organizational data. This would show additions or changes to sites, surveys, survey responses, etc...

Keep in mind that some Sites that were recently made may not show up in the recent activity log information immediately

Checking for Duplicate Sites:
Once the filters have been set for "All Items" + "Site Type" + "Specified Organization", we can see the number of Sites that meet these criteria in the app by the "Matches" at the top of the screen. We know that there should be only 1 active Site, but since there are 2 matches, this is an indication that we may have a duplicate Site.

Merging Duplicate Sites

If there are identical sites, the Site Deduplicator function in the Sites Menu can find and help merge those identical sites. However, only administrators of the organization can perform this function. Please contact an Admin if you would like to recommend sites to be merged.

Steps for the Deduplicator:
  1. In the Deduplicator, select the filters (Site type, Managed by, Match by distance, etc...) for what you are trying to find.
  2. To search for a specific name of a Site, add on an "Advanced Filter" to check.
  3. After adding the "Advanced Filter", press "Select."
  4. Choose one of the Sites to be the MAIN site and mark the other as the "Duplicate" site. This means that the Duplicate site will merge any survey data into the Main site. Press "Merge" when you are ready.
  5. To check if the merge was successful, <<go in the App>> and search for the Site. There should only be ONE of the Site now.

Merging Sites cannot be undone. If you are uncertain as to which site is the Main Site and which is the Duplicate, check with fellow data managers
