Use the digital implementation of WASH FIT, the risk-based improvement method developed by WHO and UNICEF. Facility teams complete the assessment on a device, and the resulting scores and improvement plans become data a ministry can see across every facility.

WASH FIT is designed to be run by facility staff themselves, which is its strength and its reporting weakness: on paper, the assessments stay in the facility and the ministry sees nothing until someone types them up. Digitising it keeps the local improvement cycle intact while making national oversight possible, so a regional health office can tell which facilities have assessed themselves, which risks recur, and where improvement plans are stalling.
